The space for installation needs to be completely empty and clean. Humidity to be between 40% min. and 65% max. Temperature should be 16°C ( min.) The humidity of the base floor should not exceed 3%. A cement or concrete base needs to be level with a max. defect of 2% measured under a row of 1,5 m. (59")
A wood base floor needs to be sufficiently level and stable. The distance to walls etc. is depending on the total width of the floor, the characteristics of the hardwood and its humidity, the system and the max. Relative humidity to be expected in the room. In case of doubt, please ask us.

Step by step instructions

1. Polyethylene sheets are spread out on the concrete or wood base floor in sections with an approximate 20 cm (8") overlap.
   
   
2. Roll l out the ELASTILON® with the protective plastic on top and square to the direction of the boards. Do not overlap.
   
   
3. Wherever you start installing the floor, fold back the protective plastic sheet approximately 50 cm (20") exposing the glue.
   
4. On this glue, you put a spare sheet of the protective plastic and fold it towards you with the fold to the wall.
   
   
5. On this separate "overlap" place the first rows of boards with sufficient border space left on the side of the walls.
   At the ends you match with glue the tongue & groove parts together. As soon as the first rows are put together firmly, pull out from under the boards the plastic protective sheet. The first rows of boards are now well fixed to the layer of glue.
   
   
6. The next rows can now be put in place on the original protective plastic which was folded back and which is constantly pulled out further. If necessary and depending on the characteristics of the hardwood floor selected and moisture of the base, the ELASTILON® can be pulled straight and stretched before removal of the protective plastic.
   This way, in case of flooring boards that shrink, they will be pulled together as much as possible. Continue this way and you will get a beautiful seamless floor.
   
   
7. Hardwood floors on ELASTILON® are removable.
